Atticus – Hold-to-talk voice assistant for macOS that runs on Claude -p
This is a product launch, not a verified real-world use. It is listed under New launches.
Ninth-grader Saarth built a free open-source macOS hold-to-talk assistant: local shortcuts for fast app/music/web actions, Claude Code (`claude -p`) for harder tasks on your existing Pro/Max plan, with replay memory and safety prompts before delete/send/buy.
What they did
- Install Atticus on macOS 26+ (uses local voice transcription).
- Hold Control-Option-Space, speak or type a task.
- Simple actions (open apps, Spotify, web) run locally without AI; complex ones go through `claude -p`.
- Successful multi-step flows are saved and replayed faster next time; destructive actions ask before running.
